3 Clear Warnings That Say Your Goals Are Too Small
3 Clear Warnings That Say Your Goals Are Too Small
Setting a goal is easy but making it worthwhile and real takes more effort.
Here are some indicators – OK, there are more than three! – that will tell you your goals are too small.
You:
have set a goal that is so easy to achieve you get there and then take the afternoon off! Or, it's too big and you become disillusioned and give up before dinner!
are not excited about your goal so you don't jump out of bed early to get to it.
YOU – you have a fear of achieving your goal – you can get in your own way because sometimes you subconsciously believe that if you get to our goal you will have to keep ‘proving' ourselves by doing more, being better, getting bigger.
the goal is not SMARTER – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time bound, Enjoyable and Recorded. Without this ‘map' to help you it is easy to get lost
which leads to: you haven't made incremental steps towards the end goal
don't have accountability – someone to hold your ‘feet to the fire' when you give up, encourage and celebrate with you.
don't have to push yourself – it's just too easy and you don't feel ‘stretched'.
don't feel challenged therefore don't grow.
can't see any changes to your current situation
others don't get excited when you tell them your goal
